Hi everyone, remember my last post? I posted a yarn organisation inspired post. *Read that post if you haven't already* Well, last week my dad gifted me some spending money so I can get the Raskog trolley from ikea, soo I'm super thrilled! I made it pink! Read more if you want to know how I painted it, how much I spent & some tips :)
When I went to ikea, they did not have beige or dark grey, so my only option was Turquoise. I'm quite picky so I really would not like it if it was more on the green side. I was really really hoping that it was going to look more blue cos in some of the photos I saw that the turquoise looked Tiffany blue alike but most of the pictures showed that it's more "green". I did not look around the showrooms like I normally do cos I went to ikea on a Thursday night and there were SOO many people there. I miss the days when ikea just opened, it's soo packed nowadays even on weekday nights. I felt like I was there on a Saturday morning.
So here's a little warning : the best time to go shopping at ikea in peace is probably on a weekday, during the day! So I had to rely on the box's colour swatch since I did not see how it looks like if they had it in the showroom. On top is a picture of how the turquoise looks like without any edit. My camera is showing that it looks a little bit more on the blue side but trust me, it looks super green! that's good for you if you like green but my favourite colour is blue :)
So the next day I bought some spray paints at Ace Hardware, ikano. They did have Rustoleum but the colour selection was limited, and they did not have candy pink or a light blue. It was also pricey. Based on the price I checked online, it's around 50 ringgit for US residents. But over here it's about 66 Ringgit for a can. I opted for Nippon paint, pylox lazer spray paint. It was only RM 7.31 for a can. I needed 3 cans to spray paint two layers on my trolley. The best way is to actually not fix the trolley and spray paint everything in smaller pieces. I also did not sand paper it cos I'm not sure how to do it on metal. I also underestimated how much paint I had to use, I did not put enough newspaper to cover the floor for the fumes, Definitely spray paint on grass and not be like me. I only spray painted on tiles because I was outdoors and it rained that day so the grass was still wet. I really love the colour in the end.
I'm thinking of getting one more for my makeup and beauty products. I'm really mad at myself for not getting it sooner for my makeup collection. It would be so neat to store all of my hot tools, hair dryer, hair straightener and curler in 1 and also another hair curler. I'm reffering to this picture *click me* except my vanity cart would be either another pink one or maybe white or light blue (I haven't decided yet) + more makeup palettes because I have wayy too many. I'm hoping to get a beige one next time I visit because the spray paint colour will transfer better.
All pink!

Overall I've spent RM 229 for the trolley & RM 21.93 for 3 cans of spray paints. In total RM 250, more or less (GST excluded. 6% GST applies for both items).
I think it's worth it cos before most of my crafting items were on the floor..Now they look all pretty and stuff :) It was also really easy to put together. You need a screwdriver & another person to help you hold it. 5 stars for this trolley!![]()
I also got the white vase (RM 9.90) from ikea thanks to fellow pinterest-ers I was inspired to get it. And the transparent drawer organizer is also from ikea but I got it a long time ago so I'm not sure how much it is. It fits in and you have some extra spaces at the back as well. Will you get one trolley? Comment below and let me know! goodnight lovelies! ♥♥♥
